Golden Sumatra
Rich and flavorful with earthy tones representative of the way in which this coffee is processed. Because it is un-washed and spread out to dry, this coffee is given the chance to absorb the earthy and grainy notes that give Sumatra its distinct cup character. The particular Sumatra we have been buying is a Grade 1 from the Mandheling region. Our Golden roasted Sumatra is a bit more mellow with slightly more body (mouthfeel) than our darker-roasted Dark Sumatra.

This coffee is a joy to roast. We roast it to a golden brown with very tiny specs of oil making their way to the surface of the bean. These oils will continue to become more prevalent within hours of the roast. |
